About the ragdoll breed
The Ragdoll, a captivating breed distinguished by its striking blue eyes and captivating colorpoint coat, is a favorite among cat enthusiasts. These large and muscular cats boast a semi-long, soft, and silky coat that adds to their allure. Developed in the 1960s by Ann Baker, Ragdolls have gained renown for their docile and placid temperament, coupled with an undeniably affectionate nature. Affectionately nicknamed "dog-like cats" or "puppy-like cats," they exhibit traits like following their owners, tolerating handling with ease, and displaying minimal aggression towards other animals. As a slower-maturing breed, Ragdolls may take up to four years to reach their full size, with males typically weighing between 6-8kg and females between 4-6kg. Their low-maintenance coat requires minimal grooming and, uniquely, kittens are born white, gradually developing their color and markings over time, with full coloration only apparent after two to three years..
